Follow these simple steps to start a student chapter at your college or university:
- The name of your chapter will be “EERI (your school’s name) Student Chapter”.
- You must have at least 6 members (graduate or undergraduate) and they must all be members of EERI. Membership applications are available elsewhere on this website (http://www.eeri.org/member-center/get-involved/become-a-member/). It is recommended that international students become e-members. This means having access to the EERI Newsletter and Spectra online only.
- Your school must endorse the establishment of a chapter.
- You must have one full-time faculty member as advisor who is a member of EERI.
- You must have one contact member who is a member of EERI and engaged in professional practice in the area. That person will serve as liaison between the chapter and other EERI members in your area.
- Terms of faculty advisors and contact members are three years.
- The EERI Board of Directors must approve your faculty advisor and contact. A Board Member will be assigned to your chapter to help with any questions or requests.
- Your chapter should establish rules and elect officers.
- Your chapter should send the EERI office reports about chapter activities at least once and year and let the office know the identities of your officers, faculty advisor, and contact member.
- Send all this information to EERI at 499 14th Street, Suite 320, Oakland, CA, 94612, USA, or scan and e-mail to Sonya.
- 1.You will be notified of the EERI Board of Directors approval of your student chapter.
- To remain in good standing, be sure to read and understand the rules governing student chapters, below.
