Honors Committee

To maintain the utmost in integrity and prestige for the Honors Committee of the Institute the following procedures are established for membership of the committee.

1. Eligibility: EERI members eligible to serve on the committee include past Presidents of EERI, past recipients of the Housner Medal, past recipients of the Distinguished Lecturer Award, and past members of the Board of Directors.
   


2. Nomination Procedures: The Honors committee to assist the Board of Directors in preparing a list of possible candidates should provide a slate of three nominees. The Board of Directors shall select one nominee and one alternate at their last annual meeting each year. Upon acceptance by the nominee or alternate, tenure of the committee member shall commence at the Honors-Committee meeting conducted at the EERI annual meeting.
   


3. Frequency of Membership Renewal: One new member should be selected each year to serve a term of three years with the most senior member rotating off the committee at the time of the EERI annual meeting.
   


4. Vice Chairman Selection: The Vice Chairman of the Honors Committee should be appointed by the EERI Board of Directors for a one year appointment, and will rotate into the Chairman position.
   


5. Chairman Selection: Chairman of the Honors Committee should be appointed by the EERI Board of Directors for 1 year appointment.
