Programs
EERI provides a wide range of technical services and programs to serve EERI members and other professionals dedicated to reducing earthquake losses. EERI's programs promote the exchange of ideas between research and practice and encourage sharing and application of new knowledge. EERI works to promote this exchange through its many programs, including:
- Annual meetings, national conferences, workshops, and technical seminars;
- Technical publications, including the quarterly technical journal, Earthquake Spectra and the monthly EERI Newsletter, video tapes, CDROMs, monographs, oral histories, and various other special publications;
- Post-earthquake reconnaissance investigations, public briefings and reconnaissance reports;
- Fellowships, awards, traveling lecturers;
- International collaborative agreements with other earthquake engineering associations;
- Student chapters at nearly 20 of the leading universities in the US and Canada
- The World Housing Encyclopedia, an interactive web based program dedicated to improving the seismic performance of housing throughout the world;
- The online Ethics Project;
- Innovative projects supported by the Endowment Fund, coordinated by the Special Projects and Initiatives Committee;
- Regional seismic advocacy efforts, spearheaded by EERI members who actively participate in EERI chapters throughout the US.
