INTRODUCTION 

The Board of Directors recognizes that great reliance is placed on the work of committees to further EERI's goals. Therefore, it is the policy of EERI to encourage and facilitate the work of the Institute's committees (Article XVII, Bylaws).  EERI membership is required of committee participants.

EERI Administrative and Technical Committees are established by and report to the Board of Directors. The President or Board appoints the chair of each. The Vice President assists the Board by monitoring activities and recommending needed changes to policy, structure and operations. The staff supports and assists the activities of all Committees. The President appoints a Board contact member to monitor activities of each and report to the Board.

Liaisons:

 Liaisons are appointed by the Board of Directors to serve as links to other organizations in the earthquake field.  In some cases, liaisons may be current members of the EERI Board who have an affiliation with another organization and who can, in this way, keep each organization apprised of current activities as an extension of their dual memberships. EERI currently maintains a link to the following organizations:
