Richard Eisner Receives EERI's 2007 Special Recognition Award Richard Eisner receives EERI's 2007 Special Recognition AwardAt the Annual Meeting in New Orleans EERI President Thalia Anagnos bestowed a Special Recognition Award on Rich Eisner for his sustained commitment to seismic safety over the course of his 30-year career at the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services, where he was the regional administrator and manager of the California Integrated Seismic network and California Earthquake and Tsunami Programs.  As an archtect, urban planner and urban designer, Rich focused on issues of seismic design and hazard reduction, developing model hazard reduction and preparedness techniques based on Japanese practice.  In 2007 he joined the Fritz Institute as a consultant on the Bay Area Disaster Preparedness Initiative.   Rich also serves on the National Earthquake Hazards Reduction Program Advisory Committee.
