In keeping with the theme of the conference, the Program committee has agreed to a tsunami session:

Tsunami Forecasting: A Framework for Advances in Tsunami Research
(Session PO02- Physical Oceanography 02)
Co-conveners: Eddie Bernard, NOAA and Rob Lawson, SAIC

Recent advances in deep-ocean tsunami observations and tsunami numerical models have led to a tsunami forecasting capability. This session will focus on recent advances in the speed and accuracy of tsunami forecasting, the present set of challenges, and how a forecasting system may be used for advancing tsunami research.
