We are pleased to welcome you to the second EERI-UCI general meeting which will be held on April 29th from 4:45 to 6:00 PM at McDonnell-Douglas Engineering Auditorium in UC-Irvine.
During the lecture, Dr. Zareian, the Assistant Professor of UCI who was part of the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute (EERI) team dispatched to Chile in the aftermath of the earthquake, will give a brief review of the Mega-Earthquake with a magnitude of 8.8 occurred on February 27, 2010 in Chile and caused major devastations including loss of lives, as well as significant damage to the civil and transportation infrastructure. The presentation will provide description of the earthquake and damages to buildings, bridges, industrial facilities, and other types of built environment.
