The College of Engineering at Colorado State University invites applications for up to three tenure track faculty positions in smart grid systems. We expect to make these faculty hires at either the assistant or associate professor levels. Exceptional candidates may be considered at the full professor level. A strong candidate would have expertise in a fundamental engineering discipline with a systems orientation towards innovative research with the aim of furthering a secure U.S. smart grid infrastructure. Possible research areas include, but not limited to: - Distributed energy systems modeling and control
- Energy and power conversion
- Simulation of electrical power distribution system that integrates significant quantities of renewable and distributed energy resources
- System dynamic modeling that considers end-user behavior, economics, security and regulatory frameworks
- Best practices for energy management and control solutions for effective distributed energy integration that integrates IT technologies including security with the underlying physical power systems, and
- Experimental verification of effects of various arrangements of renewable generation, distributed generation and user load types along with conventional generation and transmission.
