M5.1 Earthquake in La Habra, California

The California Clearinghouse has activated a low-level virtual clearinghouse in response to the M5.1 earthquake that occurred at 9:09 p.m., Friday night in La Habra, southern California.

Based on initial reports of damage, EERI is not sending a team to the affected area at this time. EERI members in the affected area are encouraged to share their observations or experiences with the Clearinghouse through SpotOnResponse (the Clearinghouse’s mobile data collection tool) or in the Clearinghouse forums. The Clearinghouse is monitoring the situation in southern California, and in the event of a larger earthquake, the activation level will be reassessed.
