Taiwan Earthquake Reconnaissance Briefing Webinar Now Available

taiwan-webinarOn April 19, 2016, EERI hosted a special webinar reconnaissance briefing on the Meinong, Taiwan earthquake of February 6, 2016. Researchers from multiple teams who traveled to the impacted region collaborated to share observations and provide key insights into the various aspects of shaking characteristics, earthquake damage, response, and performance of pre-event mitigation measures. Topics and speakers included: Geology and Seismology (Kevin Clahan, Lettis Consultants International); Ground Response (Joseph Sun, PG&E); Liquefaction Impacts and Other Geotechnical Effects on Buildings and Infrastructure (Tara Hutchinson, Professor, UC San Diego); Building Response (Jiun-Wei Lai, Degenkolb Engineers); and Infrastructure Response in a Resiliency Context (Kevin S. Moore, Simpson, Gumpertz & Heger).
