On August 14, 2021, a M7.2 earthquake struck Nippes, Haiti. The EERI community extends its sympathy to the victims as rescue and relief work continues.
EERI is currently monitoring the situation from media reports and notes from colleagues in the impacted region as part of its Learning from Earthquakes Program. At this time, EERI does not have plans to deploy a reconnaissance team. However, EERI has established an LFE event page to provide information about the earthquake impacts.
