EERI Northern California Chapter
The EERI NC Chapter is dedicated to reducing the earthquake risk in the Northern California by advancing the science and practice of earthquake engineering, by improving understanding of the impact of earthquakes on the physical, social, economic, political and cultural environment and by advocating comprehensive and realistic measures for reducing the harmful effects of earthquakes.

What is EERI?
The Earthquake Engineering Research Institute is the leading non-profit membership organization dedicated to understanding earthquake risk and increasing earthquake resilience in communities worldwide. Our diverse multidisciplinary membership includes researchers, practitioners, and students in engineering, geoscience, social science, architecture, planning, government, emergency management, public health, and policy making. EERI has been bringing people and disciplines together since 1948.
History
EERI’s Northern California Chapter was established in 2001. Peter Yanev was the first president of the chapter. For a list of current and former board members, view the Board of Directors webpage.
