Earthquake Engineering Research Institute

The 2023 EERI Annual Meeting (2023AM) celebrated the 50th anniversary of EERI’s Learning From Earthquakes Program and introduced a flexible new program format with a shorter 1-day technical program and a series of optional workshops and other activities that spanned 4 days total. Nearly 400 meeting attendees and 400 SDC participants gathered in San Francisco, California to participate in the meeting, themed “LFE at 50: Impacts of Earthquake Reconnaissance Past, Present, and Future”.

Day 1 pre-conference events included the Early Career Workshop (with Meet the Leaders), Board Meeting with committees/chapters, welcome reception, and the evening special session on the 2023 Kahramanmaraş Earthquake Sequence. Day 2 was a plenary technical program and LFE Donor reception. Day 3 was SDC Shaking Day, FEMA-sponsored Reconnaissance Training Workshop, and CSI-sponsored SDC Celebration event. Day 4 was a half-day field reconnaissance exercise and SDC Awards Ceremony.
