Oral History Series Vol. 07 Nicholas F. Forell

Connections: The EERI Oral History Series, Nicholas F. Forell. Joseph P. Nicoletti, Interviewer. Seventh in the series, this book covers the career of renowned structral engineer Nick Forell, who as a partner in the San Francisco firm of Forell/Elsesser Engineers was active in the development of seismic design codes and pioneered the implementation of base isolation technology. As a result of his experiences in post-earthquake field investigations, he focused his attention on raising engineering standards for buildings constructed in earthquake-prone areas. His contributions helped his firm win many awards, including the Alfred E. Alquist Award.
