On March 19, 2026, EERI’s Northern California Chapter hosted a Quick Quake Briefing Webinar on the M6.5 Guerrero, Mexico Earthquake. In the webinar, Dr. Leonardo Ramírez, UNAM, provided an overview of the seismological characteristics of the event and the observed impacts on the built environment and Dr. Héctor Guerrero, UNAM, described the effects in Mexico City, with emphasis on basin response and ground-motion amplification.
